Pre-Apprenticeship Training
Situated in Kenora, Ontario, the Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program equips Indigenous youth with the essential workplace, technical and employability skills required to enter apprenticeship. This program is designed to support aspiring apprentices who may need job readiness training, basic industrial certifications and trade-specific experience.
Through hands on work placements, participants gain experience that prepares them for future apprenticeships and helps them explore potential career paths. There is also an opportunity to gain 2-3 high school credits (if required). The program incorporates land-based experiential learning activities and work placement opportunities. In 2024/25 our Pre-App training focused on the primary trade of Information Technology. Secondary trades include IT Contact Centre Technical Supports Agent and IT Hardware Technician. In 2026/27 we'll be focusing on training for Education Assistants and Early Childhood Educators.
