Ksalsuti Welcomes New CEO

Nichole is a lawyer, former Registered Nurse and Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL). Born on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Nichole's path has led her to live and work in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Northwest Territories. Mi’kmaq on her mom’s side, her ancestors were dispossessed of their lands in what became known as Elmwood, NS. Nichole acknowledges and embraces her urban upbringing and her mixed heritage with Irish ancestry via Newfoundland on her dad’s side.

As a nurse Nichole worked primarily in emergency medicine and later became the Manager of Clinics, Telehealth and Medical Records in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Nichole has a Master's of Health Administration and also graduated from Schulich School of Law with a specialty in health law and policy. She worked as a member of the public inquiry team tasked with investigating the 2020 mass casualty in Nova Scotia and most recently served as in-house legal counsel and chief privacy officer with Doctors Nova Scotia. Committed to volunteering, Nichole sits on the Ethics Committee with the CCHL, serves as the Vice-President of the Canadian Transplant Association, and was the Chair of the Health Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia until relocating to New Brunswick work with Ksalsuti.

We are thrilled to have Nichole join our team! With her invaluable experience and skillset, she brings a fresh leadership perspective during an exciting period of growth for Ksalsuti.
